What Is AI Trust Intelligence?
A practical discipline for turning evidence and governance context into decisions leaders can explain, own and act on.
The decision gap around AI
AI governance tools can organise inventories, workflows and controls. Regulations, standards and policies can describe expectations. Neither can decide, on its own, what an organisation should do with a particular use case, supplier or governance gap.
That decision depends on evidence: how the technology is used, what data and people it affects, who is accountable, which controls exist, what remains uncertain and what the organisation can realistically sustain.
AI Trust Intelligence is the practice of connecting that evidence with the relevant governance context and operating reality, then applying disciplined judgement to produce clear decisions and practical action.

Evidence
Start with what can be demonstrated: use-case purpose, system and supplier information, data flows, ownership, controls, incidents, policies and stakeholder needs. Missing evidence is itself a finding, not an invitation to guess.
Context
Interpret the evidence in the organisation’s business, governance and risk context. Relevant regulation, standards, contracts and sector expectations inform the analysis, but their applicability and legal effect may require qualified legal or specialist advice.
Judgement
Weigh competing considerations, uncertainty, proportionality and operational feasibility. A technically possible control may be unsuitable; a policy may be well written but unusable; a low-probability risk may still demand senior ownership.
Decision
Convert analysis into an explicit choice: proceed, pause, narrow scope, request more evidence, impose conditions, assign ownership or escalate for specialist review.
Action
Translate the decision into prioritised steps, accountable owners, evidence requirements and review points. Trustworthy governance becomes visible in what the organisation does next.
How it differs from adjacent disciplines
